Conversion Machine Operator

Operate and maintain advanced conversion machinery within a fast-paced polythene manufacturing environment. This role involves ensuring product quality, maximising efficiency and supporting continuous production processes whilst adhering to strict safety and performance standards. Shift Pattern:
Continental shift pattern:
12-hour rotating shifts
Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm
Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am
Rotation: 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off
Education: GCSE or equivalent (required)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of production/manufacturing experience

Conversion Department

Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate and monitor conversion machinery to produce plastic packaging products (e.g. bags)
Adjust machine settings to meet job specifications and production requirements
Read, interpret and follow job cards accurately for each production run
Conduct routine inspections and perform basic machine maintenance
Identify and report any faults or major issues to the Team Leader promptly
Monitor machine performance using control systems and adjust as required
Ensure products meet quality standards through regular checks and inspections
Maintain accurate production records, including output, machine settings and any issues encountered
Handle materials safely and ensure correct storage and organisation within the production area
Maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with ISO and BRC requirements
Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times
Work collaboratively with team members to improve efficiency and workflow
